Plan Your Honeymoon!

After the hustle and bustle of your wedding day, you deserve a nice relaxing getaway, a chance to spend some one on one, quality time with your better half. Your honeymoon is the beginning of your new life as a married couple. With all the decisions you’ll have to make together, the most exciting one will be the location of your romantic getaway. There are hundreds of beautiful places around the world to see!

If you’re looking to relax there’s nothing better than the luxurious resorts on the beautiful beaches of Fiji, St. Lucia, or Bora Bora; just picture being swept away with the beauty of the Islands, the warm breeze in the air and the ocean mist against your skin while you lay on the warm sand. These islands are homes to many beautiful resorts and spas, which are ideal locations for your relaxing trip.

If you’re looking for more exotic beaches, then you could never go wrong with the beautiful clear blue waters circling the Islands of Greece, such as Santorini and Malta.

Many of these islands are also amazing spots for adventures. The beautiful mountain landscapes are perfect for hiking to through Hawaii to secluded and majestic waterfalls. Or go snorkeling with all the magnificent and colorful fish, and explore the coral reef in Australia. You could even take a leap of faith and zip line through the superb views of Costa Rica.

For couples looking for a more unique destination other than the generic, yet gorgeous, beaches, then the perfect place for you would be in Europe. There are many countries you could visit with various cultures. One of my favorites is Paris! After all, why wouldn’t two lovebirds want to be in the City of Love? There is breathtaking architecture that will take you back in time, and you will be consumed in the glittering lights of Paris at night. You will fall in love with the city; have the best food, great wine, and endless fun.

No matter what destination you choose, the most important part is to enjoy your time alone with your soul mate, and have the honeymoon live on even after the vacation.

Bridesmaid Dress Trends

How else could a bride exchange her “I do” without her bridesmaids? They are her confidants and the exclusive group of ladies standing beside her on that magical day. They have been her support through life choices and even when it came to selecting the dress and their dresses! Nonetheless, bridesmaid trends are a-changing and we’re into the latest and greatest styles.

Here are the top three trends for our bridesmaid Spring/Summer 2014 collection: single-shoulder dresses, pastels, and mismatched.

The asymmetrical style balances a chic and pleasant look. We see our bridesmaids elegantly in their neutral gowns. This color scheme sets the tone for a serene setting.

The neutral palette have definitely worked its way into the trends of fashion. Brides choose pastel colors to accentuate the femininity of their bridesmaid and while keeping a modest appeal.

It keeps things different rather than seeing multiple bridesmaids walking down the isle with the same dress. Mismatched dresses give flexibility to the bride and bridesmaids. Each dress can be selected based on color and style best flatters the bridesmaid. As we see in the photo, the dresses could be of different length, style and color.

This last image includes it all!

Overall, bridesmaid dresses options are very accommodating to the bridal party ladies. It requires a lot of patience and time, but the effort is well rewarded.

Tuxedo Trends

It’s almost inevitable to concentrate on the bride, the dress, and the big day since the “She said Yes!” moment. But the “I do” isn’t complete without our groom. As brides have an ample amount of gown selections to choose from, our grooms’ range of tuxedos comes close to it as well.

Let’s dive into the 2014 trending tuxedos.

We see across the board that sole button, single-breasted tuxedo jackets are currently trending, with the exception of double buttons. Bowties are one of the trendiest neckwear we not only see in fashion, but on grooms as well. The preferred material for all forms of ties is silk. Neckties are manufactured in various types of material like wool, polyester, satin, etc. However, silk ties are not only the best aesthetically, they also flow and hang better than most other fabrics used to create neckties. In addition, tuxedos are slightly straying away from the traditional black hue to whites and slate blue.

There are three different types of lapels: Notch, Peak, and Shawl. Lapel is the part on each side of a coat or jacket immediately below the collar that is folded back on either side of the front opening. There are variations of each lapel (ex. narrow, wide, etc.) Here is an illustration to best understand the styles.

Let’s take a look at our White tuxedo candidates from the 2014 Oscars:

We have Matthew McConaughey in his single button and breasted peak tuxedo! Peak tuxedo is best known to be the ultra formal and “Man of the Hour” look. Just like the peak lapel, it amplifies confidence. Nonetheless, we see Matthew donning the silk bowtie!

Lastly, we have Jared Leto in his sole button shawl tuxedo as well! He’s definitely wearing his tie with a pop of red! Introducing vibrant colors like red makes a bold and confident statement.

Our Slate blue candidates from the 2014 Oscars:

Last but not least, our classic black colored tux candidates from the 2014 Oscars:

We have Leonardo DiCaprio in his single-breasted, double button notch tuxedo! Notch lapels are sewn to the collar at an angle, creating a step effect. The notch is the most prevalent lapel style in suits these days. This is mostly because the notch lapel is so versatile. Leo is keeping his attire very traditional in black while sporting his silk bowtie in ebony as well.

It is safe to say that tuxedo shopping has been cut out for our brides! The tuxedo trend as of 2014 has shifted toward the direction of introducing colors of navy and white. Nonetheless, black will eternally state class for all formal attire, but the beauty of fashion is to alter its style and shades periodically. Pairing your favorite tuxedo style with a bowtie will be the perfect touch to your prince as you both exchange your “I dos!”

The Planner-We-See is now the Bride-to-Be!

If you’ve been following me on Instagram (@yvettehart), you’ve seen that I recently got engaged. Our love story begins as two LA locals whose paths cross as European tourists. What was planned to be a Euro trip with my girlfriends actually turned to the very destination I met my soulmate. It just so happened that he was on a trip himself, relaxing abroad from the states. As we both returned from our travel we figured out that we had mutual friends. Talk about a small world! We have been dating for two years, until a very special day when I became his fiancé. While I was supposed to meet my friend for dinner, instead, I was escorted to a private room. Through each step I took toward the door, my curiosity grew deeper. As I entered the room, it was sparkling with white rose petals and candles everywhere; and there he was, on one knee!

Here we are! Now getting ready to plan our own wedding, the very day that marks the beginning of our lives as husband and wife! As I begin this process, I will blog about different wedding topics that interest me. Nonetheless, I’ll be sharing the latest wedding trends and ideas for all you brides-to-be!

As an event planner that shares all the amazing experiences’ of many newlyweds, this was my engagement proposal story to launch our monthly blog. I would love to hear your story and share it with all our followers. Please send us your story and a picture of you and your husband-to-be at
